Welcome to the Best Destin Bachelorette Party Guide!
Hello! As someone who has planned multiple bachelorette parties for my friends over the last few years, I know the planning process can be a fun but stressful time. Here I have gathered my tips and tricks for planning a bachelorette party in Destin, Florida. I have complied them into the Best Destin Bachelorette Party itinerary to hopefully ease some of that planning stress.
This post is about the best Destin Bachelorette Party Guide in Destin, FL.
Best Destin Bachelorette Party Ideas:
In my opinion, Destin is one of the best bachelorette party destinations. They have white sandy beaches, a pretty lively night life and plenty of daytime activities. Plus it is pretty easy to get around. Most of the bars/ restaurants are within walking distance of each other so they don’t require hopping from ride share to ride share to enjoy a night out.
Below I will share with you my tips and tricks I have learned and used while planning a Destin Bachelorette :
Where to stay?
One of the best places to stay in Destin for a bachelorette party is at Villages of Crystal Beach.
Why should you stay at this Destin Air BNB?
- Gated community
- Beautiful large community pool
- Shuttle service to and from the beach
- Clean living accommodations
- Within walking distance to grocery stores, food, shopping and the beach
Click Here to visit the Villages of Crystal Beach website or you can find them on Air BNB and VBRO.
How to get there?
Fly. Unless you are within a short drive to Destin, there’s no better way to travel to Destin than sipping mimosas above the clouds with your best girls. You will want to fly into the Destin – Fort Walton Airport. This is the closest airport to Destin, but it can be about a 40 – 60 minute trip into Destin. Don’t worry though, they have a pretty great system set up for Ubers, Lyfts or other ride share options. To keep the bachelorette party as budget friendly as possible, I recommend flying with Allegiant Airlines. I know Allegiant can come with headaches at times, however, they do have some pros: cheap and direct.
What is the best way to get groceries?
I’ve recently discovered Instacart and how incredible it is especially for times like this. Aren’t familiar with Instacart? Think of it like Uber or Lyft, but instead of someone coming to pick you up and take you to the grocery store, they go to the store, purchase your groceries, and drop them off for you! Pro Tip: log onto the app and set up a grocery delivery on the ride from the airport to your Air BnB. This will help the drive go by faster and your groceries will get to you soon after you arrive. Either way, if you use a delivery service or physically go to the store, I definitely recommend buying some groceries for the group to save some money. Eating out for every meal and buying drinks will add up quick!
What about decorations?
For decorations you can go two ways: buy the items and decorate yourself or hire someone local. I have done both in the past and each way has its pros and cons.
Doing it all yourself can be cheaper, however, it can also be more time consuming and add a lot more extra stress when trying to pack everything.
Most recently, I hired a local balloon artist (I think that is what they are called) to come to the house and set up while the bride and the rest of the group were at lunch. In my opinion, this was well worth the extra cost for the quality and how much effort it saves on the attendees.
There are multiple in the Destin / 30a area but the one I worked with is @happyheliumdestin on instagram and I could not recommend her enough! Breana, the owner, was great to work with and made the whole process painless.
Complete Destin Bachelorette Party Itinerary:
Destin Bachelorette Party Day 1:
12:00 pm – 5:00 pm – Arrive/ Check in/ lunch/ pool/ beach
Depending on what time everyone starts to arrive, leaving the first day somewhat open can help alleviate some of the traveling stress. You will want to use this time to check in to your stay, grab some groceries and get the house set up for the weekend. If you have extra time, getting lunch somewhere close or hitting up the pool or the beach are great options!
7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
McGuire’s Irish Pub is an awesome place for dinner! The food is delicious, the service is always on point and the vibes are immaculate. They have dollar bills all over the walls, so be sure to bring one to leave your groups mark! I will warn, they do not take reservations and the wait can be pretty long, however, they have a pretty vibrant patio area outside with plenty of seating where you can wait and get appetizers and drinks.
9:00 pm – late night
After dinner, if your bride is into live music and dancing, you’ll want to head across the street from McGuire’s to AJ’s.
At AJ’s they have live music, which is always a fan favorite if dancing the night away is your thing. They also have a huge patio the group would rather chill out and get fresh air while still being in that party atmosphere. AJ’s is part of the Destin Harbor. Another thing I love about Destin for a Florida bachelorette party, is the harbor. On the Harbor, there are tons of restaurants that turn into bars after hours. This makes it really easy to hop to different places without having to drive.
Day 2:
Beach Bachelorette Day!!
9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Wake up, nurse your hang over, pack some lunches and head to the beach!
5:00 pm -7:00 pm
You’ll want to head back from your day at the beach with plenty of time for everyone to get ready for night two! And for pictures of course. For this night, we did a neutral theme, where everyone wore different shades of neutral tones; champagne, beige, taupe, etc. and the bride wore white! I think it matched the beach vibes of the trip perfectly. There are other great themes I’ve done over the years: everyone wears black, everyone wears a bright color / fun print and everyone wears different animals prints are just a few ideas!
7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Brotula’s is another great place I recommend for dinner! I recommend getting a seat on the patio if possible. The food and service are great and it has a stunning view of the water. It is also located on the Destin Harbor so after dinner it is an easy walk down the stairs of the patio to different night life.
9:00 pm – late night
After dinner, head back out for AJ’s for round two if the group is up for it. Or hit up another bar on the harbor for drinks and dancing.
Day 3:
Crab Island Bachelorette Party Day!!
Wake up, nurse your day two hang over, pack some coolers and head out to crab island!
Crab Island is a must do in Destin especially for a bachelorette party. Despite the name it is not an actual island though. Crab Island it is a huge sandbar located right off the coast of the Destin Harbor. At Crab Island there are different floating restaurants and bars. Tons of people pull up and park their boats there daily making it a large party area in the middle of the ocean.
There are multiple ways you can get to crab island:
- Rent a boat and drive yourself
- Rent a boat and with driver
- Take a trolly boat to drop you off / pick you up
- Take a tour boat
However your group is comfortable getting to crab island there are multiple companies online to help. Most companies offer full or half day rentals. To save money, book a half day rental starting in the afternoon. The party doesn’t really get started out their until around 1:00 pm anyways so you really wont be missing out.
6:00 pm – late night
The last night is the perfect night to stay in and order pizza. Usually at this point, everyone is hungover and tired. Plus you want to make sure you have plenty of time to pack up before your flight out the next day.
If you are planning on having a lingerie party during the trip, this is a perfect night for that also. These are so fun to do for the bride to be! If you aren’t sure what a lingerie party is, it is like a bridal shower except for lingerie. You send out the bride’s sizes to the group so they can get her a nice little surprise if they want to participate. It is also fun to play different types of games. My favorite are the games where the groom is asked questions about the bride before the trip and we get to surprise her with the answers. This type of party can be really fun to do on the last night because the group knows each other better and they can also spend time recapping their favorite parts of the weekend.
